Sinajaña, Guam – The ribbon was cut this morning on the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority’s “Summer Green” Residences in Tamuning.
This is one of GHURA’s low income housing tax credit projects. It adds 72 new low-rise rental apartments to Guam’s current pool of affordable housing. The 72 units were quickly leased out over the past two weeks with the first residents moving in three days ago.
The apartment interiors are equipped with energy efficiency dishwashers, refrigerators and stoves. Summer Green also has a half basketball court, a covered pavilion, mail boxes for postal service delivery, child play and barbeque areas as well as an open recreational area.
Qualified low-income individuals and families can apply for an affordable unit by contacting GHURA. Learn more at www.ghura.org.
The lowest cost apartments in Summer Green started at $562 per month. The affordable costs of the apartments is in part due to the use of solar-powered water heaters and LED lighting in the units.
Guam Facilities Foundation announced that two more affordable housing complexes will open in September in Yigo and Dededo.
