Guam – Tonight, Superintendent Jon Fernandez will attend the Guam Education Board meeting for the first time in over seven months since he was placed on administrative leave.

It was at the last meeting that the long-awaited announcement was made: the superintendent agreed to return to GDOE after a controversial and highly publicized termination last fall. A few things have changed since the superintendent was last on the board. Three additional, governor appointed board members have joined after several members resigned their post.

Though the superintendent will attend the board meeting tonight, there’s still the $7 million dollar lawsuit looming over GEB.

Yesterday, Fernandez’s lawyers opposed the dismissal of the lawsuit filed by GEB, and tentative trial dates have already been set. The board will convene at JP Torres Success Academy at six this evening.
