Saipan – The search for 10-year old Faloma and 9-year-old Maleina Luhk is now the most massive search for a missing person or missing persons ever conducted in CNMI history.
Last weekend, more volunteers backed up federal and local law enforcers in the search, dubbed “Operation Hope.”
Two groups of volunteers—55 in the morning and 46 in the afternoon—took part in yesterday’s search, which combed the villages of Capital Hill, the Kingfisher Golf area, Chalan Piao, and Susupe Lake.
On Saturday, roughly the same number of volunteers helped in the search around the villages of As Matuis, Achugau, Tanapag, and San Roque,
Department of Public Safety acting commissioner Ramon Mafnas said that although they feel a little bit dowy as the search entered its 11th day today, they are still hoping to find the girls.
The two sisters were last seen leaving their house in As Teo on their way to a bus stop in the early morning of May 25.
