Retired Customs Chief Francisco Torres dies

Torres served GovGuam for 36 years.

(CQA) – On July 9, 2017, Retired Chief of Customs, Francisco Unpingco Torres, was called to eternal rest. A former Chief of the Customs and Quarantine Division under the Department of Commerce, Mr. Torres served the Government of Guam for thirty-six years.

“I never had the opportunity to work beside Mr. Torres during his tenure as Chief but I have had the opportunity to meet him in his final days. During those visits, I could tell that his years of service was something he was extremely fond and proud of. He will be missed and will always remain a part of the customs family,” James T. McDonald, Director.

Final interment will occur on Monday July 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held at the St. Anthony & St. Victor’s Church in Tamuning at 9:00 a.m.  with the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. Retire Chief of Customs Francisco U. Torres will be buried at the Pigo Catholic Cemetery in Anigua with full Customs Honors.
