A resolution will be presented next week to observe and commemorate March 2017 as Women's History Month.

Guam - Today is International Women’s Day, and Senator Regine Biscoe Lee spoke of the important roles of women to the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce this morning.

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “Be Bold for Change.” Senator Lee touched on gender parity and gender equality in her speech. She also advocated a healthier Guam by voicing her support of Bill 9-34, which is the bill introduced by Speaker BJ Cruz, seeking to raise the minimum age of legal access to tobacco products to 21.

Senator Lee shared with PNC, "I got an opportunity to talk a little bit about how strong women are helping to lead our island, are helping to lead our nation, and lead the world."

The senator announced that she will be presenting a resolution to observe and commemorate March 2017 as Women's History Month.
