Passersby may have noticed thick, black smoke in Piti over the weekend. A video of the fire was also shared on social media.

Guam - Guam Fire Dept Acting PIO Cherika Chargualaf said three units responded to a reported trash fire behind the General Services Agency at around 12:37 p.m. on Saturday.

The 20-foot by 20-foot blaze was under control in less than half an hour, and Chargualaf says the GSA building was not touched at all by the fire. Chargualaf told PNC that old equipment and computers were being stored behind the building.  As of today, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Chargualaf says normal operations for GSA have not been interrupted. No injuries or structural damages were reported.
