The crash was so powerful that it knocked out power in the area for several areas.

Guam - A man who slammed his car into a concrete pole yesterday remains in critical condition, according to a representative from Naval Hospital.

Guam Police Spokesperson Capt. Kim Santos says the victim was traveling south bound on Route 4 near the Rancho Camacho complex in Talofofo when he drove his 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe into a concrete telephone pole. The impact was so powerful that it snapped several power lines, knocking out power to the area for several hours.

The roadways were also blocked for several hours as GPA crews repaired the downed lines, said Santos. The accident was reported around 2:30 in the afternoon and the 30-year-old man was taken to Naval Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The Navy Hospital representative told us that the victim’s condition improved from yesterday but he remains in critical condition.
