Guam - This years Liberation Day Festivals may be impacted by federal cuts from sequestration.
Mayors' Council Executive Director Angel Sablan today told Mayors' that the Department of Defense may not be able to participate as much as in the past.

“A lot of the military now are being told that they cannot support public events flyovers things like that,” Sablan told the Mayors. “We may not have the flyovers we may not have even the troops parading down marine corps drive so we need to get more participation from the villages."
Sablan also informed that council that a Non-Profit Organization is being formed to plan and organization the Liberation Day Festivities under the guidance of the Mayors' Council. Sablan says the Public Auditors Office suggested that the non-profit be formed to streamline operations and make tax claims easier for donors.
The non-profit will be made up six mayors and four members of the public.
