Chuukese Resident of Guam Cast Votes in State Election

Guam - The Manigalo Community Center was packed TUESDAY as Guam's Chuukese residents cast their votes in the Chuuk State elections.

Chuukese cast their votes for 4 Senators to the FSM Congress,  and 13 Representatives and Senators to the Chuuck State Legislature.

The polls opened at 7 Tuesday morning, and closed at 8pm.

Robson Romolow, the Senior Foreign Affairs Officer at Guam's FSM consultant told PNC News that this was a mid-term election. Ballots were cast here on Guam,  in Hawaii  as well asw in Chuuck State.

He said there are about 10-thousand eligible Chuukese on Guam.

The results were being tabulated Tuesday night and should be known by Wednesday morning.

Romolow himself said he was a candidate for the FSM Senate.
