Guam - The new Administrator of the Guam Memorial Hospital, Joseph Verga was formally introduced to the membership of the Guam Medical Association Wednesday night.
Among his goals, Verga said he wants to improve cost efficiency, service, safety and quality at the island's public hospital and he said he's not afraid of the coming competition from, Guam Medical City, the privately funded hospital now being built in Dededo.
Verga also his decisions won't be based on politics, but on what's best for GMH, its patients and staff.
However he'll need the help of his staff and the support of the community to get the job done.

Verga also emphasized that he has no plans to cut staff at GMH.
