Guam News - Guam News

Guam - U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Director of Field Operations Brian Humphrey told lawmakers that staffing levels will pretty much remain status quo in his office despite the tight fiscal constraints of the U.S. budget.

Humphrey paid a courtesy visit with lawmakers in the speaker's conference room Thursday.

He assured senators that his would always be open to suggestions from the legislature and always open to working with Guam's leaders. He also explained that despite the fiscal climate in D.C. and the potential for major across the board cuts to federal agencies the staffing level of his field office should remain roughly the same.

"We have a little bit of a sneak preview of what we can project for target numbers of staffing levels for our field office and at this point all indications seem to be at least for the upcoming year,” said Humphrey adding, "We don't see any significant changes to any of our staffing levels throughout this field office so that's not a bad place to start."

Humphrey is the U.S. customs & border patrol director of field operations out of the San Francisco field office.
