Guam - Guam Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo has issued a statement of condolence on the death in Afghanistan of Kosraean native Army Sgt. Sapuro B. Nena.

Statement on the Passing of U.S. Army Sgt. Sapuro B. Nena
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 19, 2012 – Washington, D.C. –

Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today issued the following statement on the passing of U.S. Army Sgt. Sapuro B. Nena, a resident of Honolulu, and a native of Kosrae in the Federated States of Micronesia. Sgt. Nena, 25, was killed in action in Afghanistan on September 16, 2012, along with three other soldiers supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.


“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Sgt. Sapuro B. Nena, another hero from Micronesia who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “I extend my condolences to his family, friends and loved ones, and I continue to pray for the safe return of all our service members currently serving in harm’s way.”
