DPW Ribbon Cutting for Talofofo & Togcha Bridges THURSDAY

Guam News - Community Events

Guam -  The Department of Public Works along with its contractor, Black Construction, are hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Talofofo and Togcha Bridges Rehabilitation Project this coming Thursday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Talofofo Bridge.
The reconstruction of the bridges across the Togcha and Talofofo rivers along Route 4 began in February 2011 and was completed in August 2012 without any setbacks.  The project’s final cost was $4,078,000.00 and was fully funded by the Federal Highway Administration.

"We are elated over the completion of this project,” said DPW Director Joanne Brown.  “Black Construction worked very hard, and in some cases at all hours of the night, to restore and reconstruct these bridges for the safety of our motoring public through the southern villages. We commend our contractor, consultants, engineers and our DPW staff for their diligence in meeting our target completion date.”
