Guam - A platoon from the 1224th Engineer Support Company of the Guam Army National Guard will be conducting their annual training over the next two weeks.
The unit will be working on projects to improve the Veterans Cemetery in Piti. Projects include cutting of a hillside to increase space needed for maintenance and ceremonies adjacent to crypts; clearing around the area’s ponding basin; and emplacing needed drainage to direct surface water run-off.

A variety of heavy engineering equipment will be used by the engineers throughout this period and may be transporting them along the island’s thoroughfares in the next two weeks.

The driving public is requested to exercise caution as they drive near or around possible military convoys of vehicles and equipment on Route 16 (near the airport overpass), the entrance to the Veterans Cemetery in Piti, and between these project locations.
