"Both my office as well as the congresswoman will be co-hosting this meeting with the deputy secretary of defense especially in light of a lot of the uncertainties in regards to the marine buildup as well as all of the other issues that are affecting this part of the world so it's important that we get to meet with the second most powerful man in the defense department and express some of the issues we have as well as maybe also getting some revelation from him on where they're at on some of these areas of interest to the people of Guam,” said Governor Calvo.

Carter will meet with senior leaders in Japan, Thailand and India before ending his Asian tour on July 26th in South Korea.
