ACI Masters & Asan Rai Open Up GMBL Playoffs with Wins

Guam - The Guam Masters Baseball League (GMBL) began playoffs in its Panak Division for the 2012 GMBL Championship with two games on Tuesday night at Paseo Stadium.

In the 6:00 p.m. game, the eighth seeded A.C.I. Masters came back after trailing 6-2, to take the ten run rule win over the ninth seeded M-T-M Falcons 16-6. A.C.I. sent seventeen batters to the plate in the bottom of the fifth and scored fourteen runs. Dave Cruz got the win while Glen Palomo took the loss. A.C.I advances to play the top seeded Chevy Silverado in the single elimination format on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.

In the nightcap at 8:30 p.m.; the fourth seeded Asan Rai defeated the Tamuning Twins 8-4. Asan took a 4-0 lead after one and never trailed. In the top of the sixth, two men on and two out, Asan’s Luis Camacho tracked down a deep fly ball into center by Tamuning’s Ron Raguindin for the third out. Bruce Fejeran took the win while Denis Rivera suffered the loss. The Asan Rai advance to play the winner of the Chevy/A.C.I game, on July 10, 2012 at 8:30p.m.

GMBL playoffs continue at Paseo Stadium on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Panak Division, when the third seeded Pacsports Giants take on the sixth seeded Kleene Guard Cardinals, followed by the second seeded Guahan Old School and seventh seeded Santa Rita Braves at 8:30 p.m.
