KTLX Fox 40 reports that Gil Sablan, who still has family in Yona, was with his family at the Miller Park Marina in Sacramento when he and others learned that a 14-year old girl was struggling in the river.
"We heard a bunch of commotion and there was a girl drowning," Sablan told a KTLX reporter. "Immediately we just ran down to the water and started swimming for her for about five to ten minutes."

According to Sablan the girl was located ten feet under water.
"My heart goes out to her family and I hope she's okay," Sablan said at the scene.
KTLX reports that rescue crews made it to the scene and began CPR within five minutes of the call for help.
KTLX reported that the girl was breathing through a machine at the hospital Sunday evening, they have not received an updated condition on the girl.
