Woman in Serious Condition After Her Convertible Hit a Concrete Power Pole in Barrigada

Guam - Guam Fire spokesman Lt. Ed Artero reports a serious injury accident occurred early this morning along Route 16 near the Guam Guard Readiness Center in Barrigada.
It happened about 3:44 am. Lt. Artero says that GFD Rescue 1/2, Engine 1, ALS 1 and Medic 3 all responded.
A red 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier, a convertible, struck a concrete power pole and the female driver was pinned behind the wheel.
GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia says that responding officers found the vehicle on the northbound shoulder of Route 16 across from the Tiyan softball field. The vehicle came to rest facing south. The jaws-of-life had to be used to extract the woman from the car.
An 18 year old woman was transported to Naval Hospital where, Navy Spokeswoman Coleen San Nicolas Perez reports she was in serious condition at noon Wednesday.
Officer Balajadia reports that she was suffering from injuries to her lower extremities. The case is under investigation and it has been forwarded to Guam Highway Patrol.| < Prev | Next > |
