Governor Calvo to meet with President Trump ahead of Asia trip

Governor Calvo will be leaving Guam Friday evening to Hawaii.

Guam – Governor Eddie Calvo will have the opportunity to meet with President Donald Trump in Hawaii as the president embarks on his 10-day Asia trip.

Gov. Calvo announced during a welcoming ceremony for Taiwan President Tsai Ing-Wen today that he will be headed to Hawaii. However, the governor did not indicate whether he will be meeting with the president.

Citing Alaska Governor Bill Walker, ABC News reports that the president will be making a brief stop in Hawaii where he will meet with Walker and the leaders of other Pacific U.S. territories, to include Guam, the CNMI and American Samoa.

According to Walker, the meeting in Hawaii will focus on Trump’s trip to Asia.

President Trump is scheduled to visit Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Hanoi, Manila and Danang between Nov. 5 to Nov. 13.
