Guam – Attention Asian American and Pacific Islander students at Guam Community College!
If you will be enrolled as a full-time Asian American and/or Pacific Islander student for the 2014 spring semester and demonstrate financial need, the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) wants you to apply for its scholarship award of $2,500.
That amount will fund most 12-credit full-time semester course loads at GCC, and APIASF is awarding 10 of these scholarships!
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
· Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census (http://www.census.gov/population/race/ about).
· Be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S. or a citizen of the U.S. Freely Associated States
· Be enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at Guam Community College during the 2014 Spring Semester
· Have applied for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants do not necessarily need to be recipients of federal financial aid to be eligible for this APIASF scholarship. (Go to http:// www.fafsa.ed.gov for more information.)
The APIASF scholarship application is available on the APIASF web site at http://www.apiasf.org/aanapisi.html, or on the GCC web site at www.guamcc.edu, under Admissions, Scholarships.
For more information, contact Bonnie Datuin, GCC program specialist in the Office of Development & Alumni Relations at 735-5516 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
