The former mayor denies that he received a massage from a woman inside his office.

Guam – It has been almost two years since accusations against former Mangilao Mayor Nito Blas were made and in court today, a date for trial was set for late October.

Blas was charged with and accused of bribery, harassment, official misconduct and indecent exposure after a woman accused him of exposing his genitals to her in a storage room at the mayor’s office in 2015.

Blas allegedly received a massage on his leg and foot from the woman who reportedly was working her court-ordered community service hours at the Mangilao mayor’s office. Court documents state that Blas offered the woman money in exchange for not telling law enforcement authorities about the massages.

The former mayor pleaded not guilty to the charges and is adamant that the exposure was an “accident.”

Jury selection will begin on October 30 with pre-trial conference on October 19 at 10 am.
