The Department of Integrated Services for Individuals with Disabilities will be holding a free conference in celebration of the “2017 National Disability Employment Awareness Month”
Guam – The free conference is open to all tomorrow(Weds.) at the Nikko hotel. DISID Director Ben Servino says that the conference is focused on employers and job seekers with disabilities. The conference will feature testimonials from various businesses that employ people with disabilities and will focus on some of the difficulties that people with disabilities face when seeking employment.
“It’s an opportunity for us to celebrate the contributions that people with disabilities have made in the workforce and also to share some of the challenges that need to be addressed in the work environment especially in the area of reasonable accommodations and the area of discrimination that exists in our community. We want to promote the employment of people with disabilities. They want to work they just not given an opportunity to go out and work,” said Servino.
The conference begins tomorrow(Weds.) at 8am and lasts until 4:30pm
